Among the speakers: Mariana Vieira da Silva, Portuguese minister for the Presidency; Thomas Dermine, Belgian state secretary for economic recovery and strategic investment; Mario Nava, director-general at DG REFORM, and many others.

One year and a half after the Recovery and Resilience Facility entered into force it is good to take a moment to assess the impact that National Recovery and Resilience Plans are having and can have on inequalities and welfare policies across Europe.

  • Have EU member states taken advantage of this opportunity to steer the socio-economic development in their country towards more equality and opportunities for all?
  • Has the care sector, largely affected by the pandemic, been restructured and refinanced?
  • Is the digital investment used to expand access to health and education?
  • Up to what extent are the NRRPs investing in future generations by promoting early childhood education and care

These are some of the questions that the Recovery Watch conference addressed.

The Recovery Watch is a research project by a structured network of experts to monitor the implementation of NRRPs and assess their impact on key social outcomes. The upcoming publications related to this project will be published here.

It is led by FEPS, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) and the Institut Emile Vandervelde (IEV), in collaboration with several first-rate research organisations.

This event is part of the Recovery Watch series

🇮🇹 The second event ‘National Recovery & Resilience Plans: Assessing to improve‘ took place at the CNEL, in Rome.
