Mario Gavenda is a doctoral candidate in political science in the research programme “The Politics of Representation in Europe” at the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS) Vienna. His research interest concerns the role of political parties both in European integration and democratic theory. His current dissertation project investigates the ideological and strategic aspects of political contestation and party competition on the EU dimension.
