Juan Gabriel RODRÍGUEZ
Juan Gabriel Rodríguez is an Associate Professor of Economics at the Complutense University of Madrid and a member of the research groups ’Equalitas: Economics of Inequality and Poverty Analysis’ and ’Distribution and Welfare’. He was Research Affiliate (2000-2008) and Head of Research Studies (2008-2010) at the Spanish Institute for Fiscal Studies. He earned a PhD from the Department of Economics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and was a visiting fellow at Université Laval, Yale and the World Bank. He has conducted research on such topics as income redistribution, horizontal inequality, social welfare, inequality of opportunity, income polarisation and mobility. Professor Rodríguez has edited three books, ’Inequality of Opportunity: Theory and Measurement’ (Emerald, 2011), ’Economic Well-Being and Inequality’ (with John Bishop; Emerald, 2014) and ’Inequality After the 20th Century’ (with John Bishop; Emerald, 2017). His current research focuses on the role of opportunity and mobility on economic performance.
