Francesca Lenzi was a research assistant in the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa Programme at the Istituto Affari Internazionali and a Master’s student in International Security Studies at the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa and the University of Trento. Her research interests include environmental and climate security in relation to conflicts over natural resources, with a focus on the sub-Saharan political and security context.
