Dr Angela Romano is the President’s delegate for European projects at Fondazione Gramsci and member of its Scientific Council since 2018, and an international historian of the 20th Century. Currently at the University of Bologna, she was previously at the University of Glasgow; Senior Research Fellow at the EUI, where she co-led the ERC-funded project PanEur1970s (2015–20); Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow (at LSE, 2011–13); and Jean Monnet Fellow at the Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, EUI (2009–10).
Her research spans the Cold War, regional integration and cooperation processes, international economic relations, CSCE/OSCE and New Diplomatic History. She has published extensively on these subjects and has been invited to many conferences across Europe, Japan, Russia and the USA.
