Andreas SCHIEDER

Member of the Parliament

Andreas SCHIEDER is a member of the European Parliament and the Head of the Austrian SPÖ-EU-Delegation. Before that, he served as parliamentary leader of the Social Democratic Party in the Austrian Parliament. He was also state secretary in the Ministry of Finance from 2008 to 2013. Andreas Schieder holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Vienna.

In the European Parliament, Andreas Schieder is Chair of the Delegation to the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, a Member of the Conference of Delegation Chairs, the Foreign Affairs Committee, the Special Committee on Foreign Interference in all Democratic Processes in the European Union, including Disinformation, the Delegation to the EU-UK Parliamentary Partnership Assembly, the Delegation for relations with Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Kosovo and Substitute Member in the Transport Committee and the Delegation for relations with the United States. Additionally, his engagement for a progressive way forward brought him to being Co-Chair of the Progressive Forum and Chair of the FEPS Next Left Program.
