22 April 2022, Palermo (Italy)

The pandemic and the various public health measures adopted to tackle its spread have an enormous impact on societies, further worsening the situations of those living in difficulty and generating new forms of vulnerability, marginality, and discrimination.

The Department of Culture and Society of the University of Palermo, the Foundation for European Progressive Studies (FEPS), and Fondazione Socialismo are engaged in research projects on the subject aimed at investigating the impact of the pandemic on society – and particularly on inequalities.

Held in the Health Democracy project’s framework, this conference wants to be an opportunity for dissemination and a chance to discuss the results achieved and the projects for the recovery.

In an article in Delo, László Andor criticises Viktor Orbán government's economic policies, such as not allowing Hungary to join the euro area, which he believes would have helped curb inflation. He also criticises the government for blaming external enemies such as the President of the European Commission, to cover up its own failures.
