FEPS and its partners have organised a set of parallel events around the 65th session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW), that took place from 15 to 26 March 2021.

This year’s priority was “Women’s full and effective participation and decision-making in public life, as well as the elimination of violence, for achieving gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls”.

The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global intergovernmental body exclusively dedicated to the promotion of gender equality and the empowerment of women and represents a functional commission of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of which FEPS is a consultative body.

The CSW is instrumental in promoting women’s rights, documenting the reality of women’s lives throughout the world, and shaping global standards on gender equality and the empowerment of women by bringing together governments, UN entities and NGOs from all regions of the world.

In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the CSW65 mostly took place in the virtual sphere, which meant that wherever you were located, you could seize the opportunity to join and exchange with feminist voices from all over the globe – being part of this highlight event in the international women’s rights agenda!

PES Women online reception – Friday, 12 March, 19:00 – 20:00 (CET)

(Independent, closed event, registration with PES Women necessary)

Traditionally hosted in New York, we do not want to miss this occasion to socialize and connect with fellow feminists who are interested in exchanging about their expectations and plans for the two-week-long CSW event. Therefore, we would like to bring our PES Women Reception to the online sphere and take a moment to deepen our international feminist network. Building new alliances and to conversate in an informal setting with fellow advocates for gender equality and women’s rights is a big part of the UN gathering.

You want to be part of the CSW virtual events this year and you are interested in connecting with fellow like-minded feminists ahead of the meeting marathon?
