President of the S&D Group and Member of the European Parliament. Iratxe García Pérez is a politician of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE). She has served as a Member of the European Parliament since 2004 and is the Leader of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats parliamentary group since June 2019. She is also First Vice-President of the Party of the European Socialists since December 2018, re-elected in 2022, and a Member of the Federal Executive Committee of the PSOE.
